Clean Up Australia Day is here again – Sunday, March 3, 2013

SIRAC has registered Scotland Island to participate once again!

This event encourages and inspires thousands of Australians to take to their local park, beach, bushland and streets and really help make a difference to their local environment

If you would like to help out, either by grabbing a bag and filling it, or helping to supervise activities, please email cassgye@spin.net.au to put your name on the list.

Come down to your nearest Wharf to collect a bag between the hours of 9am and 12.00pm.  Bring gloves, sunscreen, hat, sensible clothes and footwear – and don’t forget to bring some water too!  Toby and his crew will be out on the Laurel Mae to collect material.

Elvina Bay Grameen Group Wine and Tapas Night
Thank you

Thank you to everyone who attended our fundraiser - a Tapas and Wine night at Elvina Bay on the 25th January. It was a beautiful evening, with great food, sangria and wine and lots of lovely people who supported us.

We made $780.00 to help displaced women in Kenya start their own businesses.
In the last six months with our fundraising and donations we have raised a total of $2,250.00.

Again thank you everyone for your support and we'll let you know when our next fundraiser is imminent.

Scotland Island Rural Fire Brigade
Annual AGM - Sunday 3 March

Summer in the Cote d'Azur?

We are former residents of Lovett Bay and have recently rented in Elvina and done house swaps with a friend in Coasters. We now live half the year in Nice in the south of France and half the year here in Sydney. We are here now until late March and will be returning to Sydney in August.

Our lovely 2 bedroom apartment overlooking the Mediterranean and the harbour of Nice will be empty from then until February 2014.

Would anyone be interested in doing a house swap for any of that time? August is the busiest month there, but the height of the tourist season; from September it quietens down. And the autumn/winter months are rather like here in climate.

We can be contacted on christine.wild@me.com or 0487 630 711.
