In The News...

Here are some helpful tips from Lori's most recent organizing columns in the Dayton Daily News
Office Organizing - Slow, but Steady...

Taking time out of your busy day to organize your office can be difficult. There are project deadlines to meet, customers who need your attention and endless emails to comb through in your inbox.

If this describes your day, then the following Confucius quote sums up how you’ll get your office organized. “The man who moves a mountain begins by carrying away small stones.”

If it’s not possible to organize your office in one fell swoop then do something small everyday that will make a difference.

When you walk in first thing in the morning, break for lunch and before leaving for the day, pull any piece of paper from your stack(s) and make a decision on it. It is trash? Does it need to be given to a co-worker? Do you need to file it or take action?

This process won’t get your office organized quickly, but everyday your office gets a little bit better instead of a whole lot worse.

College Kids In Need...

Many young people are headed off to college and moving into their first homes. They are in need of all that extra stuff you have piled in your storage areas.

If you know a family with college age kids offer up your extra furnishings and home goods. It saves them money, helps our environment by recycling and you don’t have to pay anyone to haul your stuff away at a later date.

If you have a college kid and they still need items, put a shout out to your friends and family members. Many of them are happy to part with extra items if they know they will go to a good home.

Organizing Classes...

Attending our classes is a great way to learn organizing solutions and meet people who are on your same journey to get more organized.

Classes will resume in the fall. Watch our newsletter, website and Facebook postings for class dates and locations.

One More Thing...

The first week of August is ‘National Simplify Your Life Week.’ Look around your home and office for things you can part with that will help simplify your life.

Here’s one suggestion: How about parting with all of your unread magazines that have been sitting around collecting dust. Very liberating once you decide to share them with someone else or put them in the recycle bin. Try it.

Enjoy the rest of your summer!
