Service and Remembrance
 With the signing of the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act into law last year, the September 11 Day of Service and Remembrance is "official". Projects for hundreds of volunteers and ranging from environmental conservation to reading to kids are open for Angelenos to honor their community on this weekend through active participation. Yelpers Painting Project
 Elite Yelpers transformed a tagged and unattractive freeway bridge into a community supported Art Bridge with murals done by local artists and maintained by the local school parents and residents. The project concluded in true Yelp style with music, food and drinks. More >>

Coastal Clean-up Day
L.A. Works volunteers will be out to support Heal the Bay's Coastal Cleanup Day - an international volunteer event to support clean beaches, inland creeks and waterways. In Los Angeles, over 10,000 volunteers will work together to clean up sites throughout L.A. County. MORE>>
 
 
Helping Flood Victims
 At the end of July 2010, floods began to take their toll in northwest Pakistan destroying thousands of villages. The flood waters have left nearly two thousand dead with at least 20 million people affected. Food, clean water, medical supplies and shelter are the most pressing needs. MORE>>
