New Beginnings
The new masonic season kicks off this week and I'm sure we're in for a great year under the direction of our new team of Rulers. We also have a new website which can be found at www.wwmason.com. It's a work in progress, so if you have any suggestions, or would like to see something added, please get in touch. While we're on the subject of getting in contact, all the Provincial email addresses have changed to reflect the new website domain name, i.e. asec@wwmason.com replaces asec@westwalesmason.com.

The new website has live Google calendars of all the masonic meetings in West Wales, which can be found here and other useful information to download can be found here. Good luck to the new team of active Provincial Officers and we all look forward to seeing you all soon.

Provincial Church Service

The Annual Provincial Church Service is to be held in St. Padarn’s Church, Llanbadarn Fawr, Aberystwyth on Sunday 19th October, commencing at 3:00 pm.

Full masonic regalia is to be worn and robing facilities are available in the Church Hall, however, for those brethren not wearing “tails” it is recommended that you carry your regalia in a carrier bag.

Ruling Masters and Wardens are reminded that they should wear their Lodge Office Collar. Chapter Principals are invited to wear their Royal Arch Regalia (not robes!) if they so desire.

Refreshments will be provided afterwards in the Church Hall (next door) by the brethren of the Aberystwyth Lodge and St Padarn Lodge.

Peterwell Lodge at Lampeter Show

It only feels like yesterday, but it was a year ago that Peterwell Lodge first had a stand promoting Freemasonry at Lampeter Agricultural Show!

On 8th August 2014, Dave Smith and Richard Mathers once again arrived early at the show, had the usual fun working out which poles went where to assemble the stand and put out all the brochures, exhibits, old copies of West Wales Mason, Freemasonry Today etc just in time for the show to open to the public.

The weather was kind to us, and as last year we were pretty busy most of the day. We were visited by quite a few members of the Craft from various Provinces, Welsh and English, plus numerous members of the public looked around the stand, many walked away with copies of the magazines and information packs.

One thing that was very pleasing was the number of local people who commented that it was nice to see Freemasonry was becoming much more open and how pleasant to see the stand and be able to talk to a Mason without thinking he was a member of a secret society.
