Kayak Moving Water Weekend - North Wales
22nd to 24th September 2023
This is a great opportunity for those who want to step up their moving water kayaking paddling. Be it instruction or trip only, you're most welcome to join the group.
The weekend will be run in and around the River Dee and River Tryweryn area in North Wales, staying at a Bala bunk house
( http://www.balabunkhouse.co.uk ).
Trip Information
The cost of the trip will be £65 per person. This does not include boat hire.(cost increase due to inflation)
This price includes your accommodation and breakfast, but does not include evening meals or lunches.
Alternatively you can add an evening meal which will be a main and dessert for £5 making the total cost £70.
Participants are responsible for their own transport to North Wales, although I will put people in contact with each other to arrange car sharing where possible.
There must be an adult attending who is responsible for the wellbeing and behaviour of any participant under 18 when not on the water. This may be a Scout Leader, nominated adult or non-paddling parent/guardian.
Pre-requisites
Formal White Water Award training (or 3 star in old money) or above is essential. This is primarily a development and river trip event, however if you have individual training needs please ask.
Bala bunkhouse has reduced its occupancy so numbers are limited to 9 available places, plus 3 places for SSWAC coaches. A total of 12 people.
To reserve your place, on a first come first served basis, reply to this email requesting a place on the trip. Further information will then be requested, I will confirm your place, I will ask for payment be sent to the SSWAC bank account, and I will issue joining instructions.
If you need further information please email me on ian.rowlands@surrey-scouts.org.uk
