Scotland Island Water and Wastewater Feasibility
Study
Council is seeking feedback on the study. Comments close
on Wednesday the 28th of October.
Now that the feasibility study has been completed, it
has to go to the NSW government from Northern Beaches
Council. SIRA will be working with Northern Beaches
Council, Rob Stokes and Jason Falinski, our local State
and Federal reps, who all support that this work needs
to be carried out.
The new study shows that the work would be a lot less
than Sydney Water estimated previously In their
submission to IPART for their current licence.
Rest assured that the Scotland Island working group
along with SIRA will lobby IPART and the NSW government
very strongly in the next few months so that the
feasibility study be accepted and planning work started
for implementation.
The working group has not yet seen the final study but
once we have received it we will be able to give you
more information.

Delay in public
exhibition
As you might have noticed, the public exhibition on Your
Say for the Scotland Island water and wastewater study
hasn’t gone live yet.
I expect it to go live early next week. In the meantime
you can look over the document we provided you, which sums
up the overall case for investment.
I will also be attending the island to put up signs at
each wharf on the day it goes live, so that will be
another sign that the full set of reports is available and
the submission period is open.
Thanks for your patience.

Condolences and
congratulations for a life supremely well lived.
Carissima Mary,
Joe is, with you, the foundation stone of Church Point
life. A force that has shaped the way we, residents of the
water access-only areas of Pittwater, have lived our lives
for at least two generations: what we drank and ate, how
we met at a convivial table -Southern Italian/Australian
for the simplicity in decor, in eating, and for tranquil
exuberance, inventiveness, mateyiness.
Arriving late at Church Point for the Ferry or Water Taxi
was a lucky opportunity for the cappuccino at the Romeo’s
and, of course, a chat about anything: flowers and plants,
issues of the day, always accompanied by an offer on the
side of Joe’s or you, dear Mary: the art of giving
personified and not only from a shelf, but of oneself:
family stories in two continents, over 2 or 3 centuries,
good life in Australia and the deep love for it.
Now Joe is still living, strong as ever, but in our
memories and our affection.
Please accept our condolences and congratulations for a
life supremely well lived, that continues through you and
your splendid offspring.

CROWD PLEASERS
BRAD JOHNS and THE CROWD PLEASERS brings a very special

including a raft of his new original material as well as
much of his specially arranged crowd pleasing tunes.
Brad has played with Tommy Emmanuel, Ian Moss (Cold

Cassar-Daley… believe me there is nothing this man can’t
play and sing well.
He brings the talented Tony Boyd on drums (Kate Lush,
Simon Kinney-Lewis, Eric Steckel (U.S.) Mal Eastick.),
Christian Young on Bass (Jack Jones (Southern Sons) James
Morrison, Steve Balbi (Noiseworks) & members of Frank
Zappa’s band.) as well as Phil Grove on Keyboard (The

Sunday 11th October: The Co-Op Club are proud
to present ROSHANI
From dirt poor beginnings in Sri Lanka to explosive multi
instrumental one-woman powerhouse, the music of ROSHANI is
as captivating and uplifting as her life story.
Her father the village drummer, her mother the singer,
impoverished and with no hope, had to give ROSHANI up for
adoption. At 6 weeks old fate led her to the other side of
the world, to a musical family living in regional NSW.
ROSHANI’s music defies pigeonhole, timelessly crossing
genre. Using loop pedals to lay down guitar, harmonica,
keys, percussion and a voice that gives you goosebumps.
ROSHANI developed her one-woman show while living in her
van, busking on the streets and travelling wherever the
wind took her. In 2015, ROSHANI reunited with her Sri
Lankan family after 28 years apart. 60 minutes Australia
followed her with camera crew and her story has had
millions of views. Her mission in this life is to inspire
and uplift the world with song and story.
“ROSHANI may be originally from Sri Lanka, now she calls
Sydney home. .... and in my humble opinion. Is
READY.......FOR THE WORLD . I LOVE YOUR TALENT, YOUR
MUSIC, YOUR VIBE.” - Peter Noble, Festival Director
Bluesfest Byron Bay “ A deep, dark soulful songwriter with
a voice to match” - James Blunt
