Matthew 11:28 "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
THE CHRISTIAN COURSE: LOOK TO THE SON (2)
Without even realizing it, we can look away from Jesus and what He has done for us and start focusing on what we are doing with our own two hands, so to speak. But that will only make our journey through this life more frustrating as we stray off course this way and that way. How successful would a navigator be if he simply stared at his own two hands while he made stroke after stroke with his paddle? I'd venture to say he'd never find his destination. He could be paddling himself in a circle and he wouldn't even know it. However, when he looks to the sun to find his way, he is guided by something outside of Him that is constant and unfailing.
If you feel that you have lost the way and can't find the proper course, before you do anything else, start by looking to the Son. If you are burdened by your sinful condition, stop dwelling on yourself and consider what the Son has done for you. When everything in this life is unsteady and you don't know where to turn next, look to the Son, for He is rock-solid, constant, and unfailing. When you are on your deathbed and your course through this life is at an end, look to Jesus -- He will bring you safely home with Him.
