Next week we have a change to the scheduled programme. Instead of Sarah Howard, who has had to postpone her visit, we have a return to BPS of multi-award-winning creative photographer and actor Bill Ward, who will be presenting his talk entitled Shooting Water.
In his talk, Bill discusses photographing the wet stuff in all its glory. From waterfalls to seascapes, urban canals to mountain streams, Bill leaves no stone unturned in his quest to uncover the mysteries of H2O,
and how we as photographers can help unlock its full potential. Expect
a
light sprinkling of handy tips and advice, as well as a bucketload
of
aqueous photographic delight.

You can read all about Bill and see plenty of his images by visiting his website at: billwardphotography.co.uk. In the meantime here are some watery shots to be going on with. |

DI group meeting – Monday 10 June at 7.30pm – Clubroom and Zoom
Last month we were fortunate to have seven members share their fascinating images to a well attended meeting both in the clubroom and on Zoom. We hope that will inspire members to share their images at the next meeting in about ten days’ time on Monday 10 June at 7.30pm.
These informal meetings are a great opportunity to share your work with other members or simply to gain some inspiration. If you would like some advice, to share a project you have been working on or simply want to share some of your images outside the competition environment please send your images to dig@bristolphoto.org.uk by email or WeTransfer service by 5.00pm on Saturday 8th of June ( please note, a day earlier than usual ) so they can be included.
Please number your images in the order you would like them to be viewed and resize to the usual competition size, not essential but helps to keep the file sizes manageable.

If you entered the Annual Print Competition, make sure that you uploaded the jpegs of your prints (ones that you have not previously uploaded). Don't forget - no upload, no judging!
The following was in the last edition of the newsletter:
When entering the competition, you must also supply a digital copy of each print you enter (unless you have already submitted digital copies of the same images to previous print competitions). This should be the same size as for the PDI competitions – 1600 pixels x 1200 pixels – but there will be no need to give any other information than your name and the title e.g. Sam Bloggs, Storm At Sea. You don’t need to add your membership number or level of entry.
Please upload the digital copies of your prints by following this link:

International Success For Derwood Pamphilon
|
Derwood was recently pleased to receive his copy of the exhibition catalogue for this year's Toronto International Salon. He was even more pleased when he discovered that the image used to illustrate the cover was one of his. The cover is reproduced below:
Whilst on the subject of Derwood, he is taking part in this year's BS9 Arts Trail and has an exhibition of his work on show at Trinity College, Stoke Hill, BS9 1JP on the 8th & 9th June from 11am to 5pm daily - why not pop along to support your fellow BPS member. Full details of the Art Trail can be found at www.bs9arts.co.uk

If you have any photographic items
for sale, drop me a line and I'll include it in the next newsletter.
Please make sure that you provide contact details, price and full
description of the sale items (pictures always help).

Salon acceptances: Contrary to popular belief, I do not possess psychic powers and need you to tell me if you've had successes. If you want to blow your own trumpet (or someone else's), then this is the place to do it. Please let me know and I'll include details in a future issue.
