The print competition season gets under way next week, with Round 1 which is being judged by Aleks Gjika EFIAP DPAGB, from Gloucester. Aleks is chair of the Cheltenham International Salon and is well known on the club speaker and judging circuit. He is almost taking up residency at BPS over the next week, as he will be one of the selectors over the weekend for the Great Western Exhibition as well as judging next Wednesday.

Writer's Block!
The last couple of editions of the newsletter have been devoid of much news, which can be put down to a couple of things: a) it has been a slow news few weeks and b) the fact that my creative juices seem to be drying up, resulting in that well-known affliction called writer's block.

If you have anything that you reckon might interest your fellow BPS members, then please send it to me at the usual address - bpsnewsletter@bristolphoto.org.uk and I will make sure that it is included. Words are great, but if you can illustrate your words with pictures, all the better (standard jpegs to club competition sizes).

Great Western Photographic Exhibition

Judging takes place this weekend for the Great Western Photographic Exhibition. This is the first of hopefully many such weekends as Bristol tries to establish itself firmly on the BPE calendar of approved exhibitions. This exhibition was largely the brainchild of Steve Field, who is the hard-working chair and who will be hoping for a successful weekend's judging. BPS members are welcome to come along and view the proceedings, which start on both Saturday and Sunday at 10am.

DI Group - No October Meeting - Correction
In last week's issue we carried an article by Rachel (Domleo) about the September DI Group meeting. In that article an image was wrongly attributed to Tim Jones - this should have been Tim Barker. The correctly attributed image is shown below:

Trumpet Blowers' Corner
