Hello Firstname

Wednesday 10 April

Next Wednesday, 10 April, we have a welcome return of Sue Sibley ARPS, EFIAP, DPAGB, BPE2*, who is Chairman of the Southampton International Exhibition. Sue will be showing a selection of the successful prints from this year's exhibition. Sue's (admitted) failing is a total inability to pronounce foreign names and it will be interesting to see if she has mastered the art since last year.
This is always a good evening, with a combination of great pictures and Sue's witty presentation. Click here to see more about this year's exhibition.

DI Group & Photoshop Creative Workshop (No1)
All members are invited to the monthly meeting on Monday 8 April at the club room. For the first half an hour or so we will take a look at presentations brought by you either as prints or digital files for projection as usual.
For the remainder of the meeting would be devoted to the first session of Creative Imaging workshop. This session will cover a brief introduction to types of creative images, most popular being those using Photoshop tools. Most of you will recognise the distinctive creative images by Barry Mead who has agreed to deconstruct one or more of his images to show how he approaches the task on Monday. I am also pleased to say that Mike Martin, who also produces some wonderful creative images but in a slightly different style, has agreed to help out at these workshops.  The first session will set the scene for the next three hands on workshops. You can sit back, watch and listen and you need not bring your laptop on Monday but please bring a flash drive for any material that may be handed out. You will need to bring your laptop with Photoshop to do exercises and your own work on next three Tuesdays.
If you are interested in these workshops (see last week ‘s newsletter no 330 for details) please let me know so that I can make arrangements accordingly.

Photographic Distinctions
A reminder of the item in last week's newsletter.
The date of the BPS AGM looms ever closer which means that various officers of the club have to prepare reports ready to be checked by our auditors before being included in the BPS Annual Report. One of these includes a summary of photographic distinctions held by members. Would you please, therefore, let Carol know if your distinctions are different from those shown at the top of this newsletter.
Details please to:

Trumpet Blower's Corner
Salon acceptances: BPS photographers are now achieving large numbers of salon acceptances and constraints on time and space mean we can't include them all. So please only advise of awards or other milestones.

Contrary to popular belief, I do not possess psychic powers and need you to tell me if you've had successes. If you want to blow your own trumpet (or someone else's), then this is the place to do it. Please let me know and I'll include details in a future issue.

Studio Bookings
Would all members please note: before you plan your shoot and book your model, you should check whether the studio/clubroom will be free. This can be done easily and at any time by viewing the Clubroom Bookings calendar in the Members' Area of the BPS Website. Bookings can (and must) be made by contacting Mike Bigger at bookings@bristolphoto.org.uk.
Log in details to the Members' Area are at the end of this newsletter.

Personal Detail Changes
Please don't forget that if you change your address (home or email), or gain additional photographic distinctions, it would be appreciated if you could let the Membership Secretary know so that she can keep her records up to date, this will also ensure that you continue to receive your newsletters - please email all changes to membership@bristolphoto.org.uk
The distinctions we have on record are those shown at the top of this newsletter, if they are wrong, please let Carol know.
