NATIONAL CHARITY SUMMIT EVENT - Wednesday 24 June 2020
WHAT: Charity leaders will gather online this coming Wednesday (24 May) to discuss the Impact of the COVID-19 emergency on communities. A panel will discuss what the incoming Government can do mitigate the social and economic impact of the pandemic. The panel will also explore the revival of community and volunteering during the lockdown-phase. The online event will be hosted by The Wheel, the national association of charities.

- Jim Power, Chief Economist for Aviva Ireland
- Dr Shana Cohen, Director of TASC (think-tank for action on social change)
- Inez Bailey, CEO of the National Adult Literacy Agency (NALA)
- Kitty Holland, Social Affairs Correspondent at the Irish Times
WHEN: Wednesday, 24 June from 9.30 am to 11.30 am
WHO: The event will be attended by 250 leaders from the community, voluntary and charity sector.
WHY: This is an opportunity for Ireland’s charities to regroup and discuss the impact of the pandemic. The event is part of a series of online events replacing The Wheel’s Summit, the largest annual gathering of Ireland’s charities.
