Jerald was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held many offices and fulfilled many callings. He especially enjoyed home teaching. His influence on his companions and families changed and blessed many lives. He loved to read and watch sports. He enjoyed gardening and loved history.

He is survived by his children; Susan (Vernon) Maas, Kathleen Engstrom, Jeanette (Rich) Tregeagle, Michael (KeeNan) Engstrom, James Engstrom, and Nathan (Elisa) Engstrom, and 12 grandchildren.
