John 21:12-14 Jesus said to them, "Come and have breakfast." None of the disciples ventured to question Him, "Who are You?" knowing that it was the Lord. Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them, and the fish likewise.
JESUS' LITTLE ACTS OF LOVE
The disciples had spent a night fishing on the Sea of Galilee. They were tired and frustrated, for they hadn't caught anything.
As the sun rose, Jesus stood ashore and asked His disciples if they had caught anything. When they answered "No", Jesus told them to cast on the right-hand side of the boat. They did not yet realize that it was Jesus, but they listened anyway, and their nets were miraculously filled.
Then they understood that the stranger on shore was no stranger at all, it was their risen Lord!
When they all reached the shore they found that Jesus had prepared breakfast for them. And not only this, Jesus even served them the fish and bread He had prepared.
Jesus didn't need to make and serve them breakfast to show that He had risen from the dead. They had seen their risen Lord twice before. Jesus did not need to give them a large catch of fish to show them how powerful He was. They had already witnesses many miracles done by His hand. Jesus did these things simply because He loved these men.
On the cross we see that there is no task too great for Jesus to do. And here on the shores of Galilee Jesus shows us that there is no task too small that He would refuse to help.
With a snap of His fingers He could crush whole solar systems or extinguish the sun, and yet He serves fish and toast to these sinful Galilean fishermen.
Dear Christian, Jesus has already done the hard work. The work you couldn't do. He has taken your sins away. Seek His help in all things. He will not refuse you, even in matters you might consider insignificant, for He loves you dearly.
