A NO Vote will entail:

- City Council will decide on merit
- City Council will decide on sick leave
- City Council will decide on vacation buyback, life insurance, LTD...etc.
While we would have liked what we were PROMISED...the full 3.2% concession given back. (and trust me your negotiations team argued this point multiple times) We feel that this package is the best considering the current economic and political situation. The biggest victory is that we saved longevtity and merit increases being frozen or eliminated and a no vote puts that victory at risk.
Also be aware we have filed an ULP...and unfair labor practice against the City Managers because we feel we were not bargained with in "good faith". This charge will be heard by the Phoenix Employment Relations Board soon.
Finally, be aware that this wage package is the same wage restoration given to other units and includes an aggreement (if passed) of PARITY if any other unit gets more than us. If this doesnt pass however....then city council will decide on what we get and dont get.
Your team encourages you to vote YES and not let city council decide on longevity, wages and benefits. We have made significant gains in this contract and hope to get even more back next year.
