Our first CD release party was held at Chaplin's in Spring City, PA and was a rousing success. They have asked us back to play on Nov. 7. Chaplin's used to be an old burlesque theater where Charlie Chaplin once performed. The Mighty Manatees are playing a number of outdoor shows in August:
It begins with our return to the Tex Mex outdoor happy hour Tiki Bar on Fri. Aug. 15 (5-8).
The next day (Sat., Aug 16) we are playing on the beach in Avalon, N.J. at the Golden Inn (3-7) www.goldeninn.com
On Wed., Aug. 20, The Mighty Manatees will play a free all-ages outdoor concert at Eagleville Park in Lower Providence, PA (7-8:30).
Sun., Aug 24, (weather permitting) we perform at The Fitzwater Station in Mont Clare, PA (4:30-8:30)
Don't forget abut our free outdoor lunch-time show at the Main Street Railway Park in Lansdale, PA on Wed., Aug. 27 (12-1:15) It's an all-ages show and part of the "Music on Main St." program designed to bring music into the community.
Coming up: The Mighty Manatees are a bus trip to New York City! On Saturday night, Nov. 15., we are playing the world-famous Bitter End on Bleeker St. in Greenwich Village (10:30-11:30). This is our New York CD release party. Bus tickets will be available soon...
Manatees Fun Fact: Did you know that The Bitter End has been declared a New York City landmark? And did you know that a few years ago a book was written about The Bitter End and The Mighty Manatees were mentioned in it as a result of our string of appearances there during the 90's? It's true! (The Bitter End by Paul Colby, Cooper Square Press)
On a personal note: I have a new woman in my life. Her name is Stacey. This year Stacey and I became parents to a beautiful baby girl! She was born on my sister Sue's birthday and we named her Daisy Grace. She is very sweet baby. Welcome to the world our new little girl.
