On April 4th, from 6pm to 10pm, Stop The Violence-Pittsburgh will be hosting a Black Tie Fundraiser with "POOCH" Hall of SHOWTIME "Ray Donovan"Series and BET "The Game", State Rep. Ed Gainey (MC), University of Pittsburgh Professor Larry E. Davis (Keynote Speaker), Corey Brukner of Mayor Bill Peduto's Office, U. S. Congressman Mike Doyle, County Executive Rich Fitzgerald and Others at the RIVERS Club, One Oxford Center. All Proceeds go to the upcoming 2015 Community Awareness Day/Black Arts Fest Event.
In addition, STV-Pittsburgh will be holding a Red Carpet Media Event, from 5pm to 6pm, for interviews and photo session prior to the maintain event.
AWARD CEREMONY: a feature of the Black Tie Event will be an award ceremony for individuals and groups that have work to highlight and combat homicides in the Communities. This years Honorees are Michael Bartley and Tonia Caruso of WQED for their programming on "GUN VIOLENCE: Victims and Voices for Change" and Editor/Publisher Rod Doss, Assistant Publisher Stephen Broadus and Associate Publisher Ashley Johnson of the New Pittsburgh Courier for their continued reporting of homicide rates among African-Americans within Allegheny County, "Under Attack By Us". These individuals will receive Proclamations from the City, State and Congress.
