OPEN LETTER TO PHARRELL FROM SA SCHOOL CHILDREN |
Khulekani Skosana, the Secretary-General of the Congress of South African Students (COSAS), has written an open letter to US artist Pharrell Williams saying: "Its ironic that you and Woolworths will be claiming to support South African children and yet we - the largest school learner organization in this country - will be outside protesting against you and your Woolworths collaboration." | COURT VICTORY FOR #PHARRELLPROTEST AND #BOYCOTTWOOLWORTHS CAMPAIGN |
Another victory has been scored for the Palestine BDS movement yesterday when the High Court declared that the City of Cape Town's attempt to restrict the upcoming #PharrellProtest was unconstitutional and therefore invalid. The City of Cape Town has been ordered to pay for legal costs.
Pharrell Williams, Woolworths, Grand West Casino and the City of Cape Town have tried all they could in the last few weeks to limit and prevent protest action during the upcoming Pharrell Williams Woolworths tour.
This is a good day for the BDS movement, Palestine solidarity and for the hard-won freedoms that our fathers and mothers fought for. Yesterday's court victory against the City of Cape Town now means that its full-steam ahead for the Monday 21 September #PharrellProtest!
On Monday 21 September at Grand West Casino, human rights and Palestine solidarity activists will be protesting against Pharrell Williams’ collaboration with Woolworths and its trade with Israel. The protest forms part of the now year-long #BoycottWoolworths campaign calling on the company to end its relations with Israel. See below for details of protest.
