Dear Macro members,
Greetings! We invite you to sign up for our 2022 Musician's Workshop! The workshop will be held at Monona Terrace in Madison, Wisconsin on June 3-4, 2022. All you need to do to sign up is contact Jamie Henke (jamie.henke@wisc.edu) and she will register you and send you our pre-workshop materials. Please share this invitation with your colleagues!
We have a wonderful set of presentations planned for this year. Here are just a few of them: Make your teaching and learning active in this year's featured session: "Student Engagement: A Survival Guide" session presented by Dr. Whitney Berry. Other highlights on the workshop include "Shifts and Slides in Brahms's Intermezzo, opus 118, no. 2" and you'll be able to answer the question, "Are Animals Musicians?" Explore the interaction between analysis and performance, and learn about metric displacement and macro analysis, interpret "Impossible Rhythms", and explore the nuances of modal mixture. We can't have a workshop without Bach and counterpoint, and to balance that out we'll have a session on New Music Collaborations in the Classroom, and our featured composer competition winners.
As you can see, we have a lot of sessions already on the program for 2022, however we will have time for a short "Pitches Session" so if you are interested, please feel free to submit short 15 minute topics that you would like to share at the workshop. Please send all submissions to jamie.henke@wisc.edu. Submissions due by April 25th.
Best wishes for your work this semester! Please sign up with Jamie soon via email (preferable by May 15 so that we can accurately plan our luncheon count) and send some of your "Pitches" if interested!
We hope to see all of you in June!
Jamie
