NOTICES

ISLAND ROADWORKS – IMPORTANT REQUEST!

Pino and the crew have been on the Island for a couple of weeks cleaning drains/pits, patching roads with cold mix and maintaining/creating water bars.

Sadly, they must leave to carry out mainland work, but SIRA is negotiating to have quarterly maintenance implemented from now on.  There are also upcoming scheduled Capital Works in the new financial year at the intersection of Cecil Street and Richard Road to improve drainage in that area.

The intersection of Hilda Avenue and Thompson Street has had some surface maintenance using cold mix.  The longevity of this surface is dependent on vehicles not driving on it for a few days and also PLEASE DRIVE UP HILDA AVENUE AND DOWN THOMPSON STREET NOT THE OTHER WAY!  This road is not in great shape and, until it can be scheduled for a complete resurface, this one-way access should be maintained to avoid further deterioration and any subsequent road closure.  The wheels of vehicles spinning on the road as they get traction up the hill from Thompson Street is what creates further damage.

WASTE CALENDARS

Council has advised that the new Waste Calendars are due to be delivered at the beginning of July.  These will be left at all wharves for residents to collect and SIRA will have some spares on hand.
