Dear MACRO members,
I am pleased to announce this year's recipient of our Benward Theory/Composition honorarium, Jason Ihnat. Jason is a music theory teaching assistant at Eastern Michigan University, teaching with MACRO member Marilyn Saker. When he is not teaching, Jason currently maintains a 3.96 GPA while completing two master's degrees in composition and music education. Jason studies composition with Dr. Anthony Iannaccone and enjoys giving to the musical community through composing and arranging for solo instrument and ensembles. He is also actively involved in percussion performance. He plans to complete both master's degrees in 2010, and then continue his studies toward a doctorate degree in music.
As MACRO Chair, I'd like to extend the congratulations of the entire organization to Jason!
