AGM Update

Our AGM was well attended and we gained valuable feedback from our members through the Vision Exercise.  We will be using this feedback to guide our goals for 2018.  Full meeting minutes can be found here.

We would like to introduce our Board of Directors for 2018:
       President:
Karaleen Gioia
Vice-President: Steve Sheldon
Secretary: Ken Porter
Treasurer: Andrew de Verteuil
Members at Large:      Stacey Poole
Sarah Devriese
Gabor Huszar
David Hansen
Jesse Maxson
Brendan Gauthier
Mick Martinez

We also created the TORCA Committee and added three members. They have offered to help us with various events and tasks throughout the year:
    Reno Koeleman
    Marie Hunter
    Lance Richardson

You may notice that Reno Koeleman, a long time TORCA Director and member, has stepped down from the Board of Directors but will continue to help out as a Committee Member.  Reno has been a Director for 8 years, predating TORCA, back to the days of TORCC!  We can’t thank him enough for all of his contributions, both on the Board and on the mountain.  Not only is he a great organizer but he builds awesome trails too!  Thank you Reno....see you on the trails.

There are also countless hours put into our other trails through the dedicated builders in our community.  A big thank you to all our builders!

Photo contest winners
Our first photo contest had some great submissions. It was a close vote between the top 3 spots. In case you missed them, here they are again.
Start taking pictures as we plan to hold another contest in 2018!

Trail News
Our last TORCA trail day for 2017 was held on Manhandler after we received official permission from RSTBC. We had a great turnout and it felt good to be able to get back to work on Eagle. We made great progress on a reroute near the bottom of the trail. Check out the before/after pictures.

We have a lot more work coming up on Eagle mountain in 2018 and will need all the help we can get. Keep an eye out on our newsletter and social media for trail day details.

Eagle mountain historical fact:
After eagle was originally logged there were shingle mills. They had a steam donkey rail line to bring their product down the mountain. Physiotherapy utilizes many of the grades originally built for the steam donkey line.

The location for each day will be decided closer to the date. Please check our website and social media for updates
