Post Tax Day Blues!
Tax day has come and finally gone. The day when all Americans happily contribute to the cost of living in a civil society by paying our fair share . Yay!

And by "all Americans" I mean working-class Americans.

And by "happily" I mean grudglingly.

And by "civil society" I mean civil society.

And by "our fair share" I mean the Working Class paying a greater percentage of their income than the bloated plutocrats who's insatiable hunger for the wealth of others is destroying our country, and the world. I mean our putting our hard-earned money into the outstretched hands of a government which increasingly sees it's job not as supplying services to taxpayers, but as a
being a conduit for conveying our paychecks into the pockets of swindlers.

And by "swindlers" I mean the war profiteers, political prostitutes and their corporate pimps, financial mis-managers, and any Reactionary, Free Market Ayn Randian asshat who promises that if elected they will help undermine representative democracy, privatize public wealth, de-regulate, de-unionize, and to invade someplace, anyplace, real soon.

And by "Yay!" I mean Death to the Pigs.

And... back to us!
Here's something interesting we're up to:
The San Francisco International Arts Festival

“Iranian playwright Nassim Soleimanpour declined to serve in his country’s armed forces, in return the Iranian government denied Mr. Soleimanpour’s request for a passport. Unable to leave Iran, he has instead sent a script to SFIAF to have other people read it for him. Soleimanpour’s arresting and allegorical work, White Rabbit, Red Rabbit, dissects the experience of a whole generation in a wild, utterly original play. Soleimanpour turns his isolation to his own advantage with the play (written in English) which requires no director, no set, and a different actor for every performance. Per Mr. Soleimanpour’s instruction, the script of White Rabbit, Red Rabbit will be opened in front of the audience and performed unrehearsed by a different actor each night.”

So Velina will be performing on May 5th, and Michael will be on May 11th. Other performers include Josh Kornbluth, Leonard Pitt, Rhodessa Jones, Sean San Jose, Keith Hennessy, and more. Each night a different cold reading, a different interpretation. We really won't know what's in the script until we open it! For more information and tickets click here.

Michael's stage adaptation of George Orwell's "1984" continues to tour the  world! Produced by the Actor's Gang Theater of Los Angeles, "1984"  recently played at the XIII Festival Iberoamericano de Teatro in Bogata,  Columbia, and the Teatro San Martin in Buenos Aires!

Velina is going to start her next Business of Show Biz workshop May 1st! So if you are interested in kicking your career into High gear, click here to sign up while there's still room!

Michael performed at "The Shout," a monthly event hosted by Rami Margron and Cassidy Brown, where featured invited storytellers tell "amazing but true stories from their lives." Michael's story was about how he recently found out that he and his family were in the Federal Witness Protection program when he was a kid! Give a listen by clicking here.

On April 25, at the Hebst Theater in San Francisco Michael and Velina will be at the Community Housing Partnership's annual
"A Night with the Stars" gala event. For over twenty years his amazing organization has helped find permanant, supportive housing to formally homeless individuals and families. They've also been producing a wonderful talent show, where many of those they've helped have the chance to shine. For several years Michael has been one of the talent mentors and Honorary Committee member, and Velina has been one of the judges for the event. If you have the chance please come out and support this truely great organization, and and see some very talented people on one of the most beautiful stages in the City. One last thing:
On April 22 - Earth Day - two friends of ours, Mark Romyn and Cameron Galloway will be tying the knot. We know most of you can't make it, and may have forgotten to get them anything - simply because you don't know them. Don't let this get you down! We have it on good authority that you can make up it up - at least to Mark - by purchasing his disturbing and hilarious new book:

It's laugh out loud funny, and psychologically troubling at the same time! What a bargain!

I have no idea what to get Cameron. Try Crate and Barrel.
