On the catwalks, models are sporting a single pearl earring, and mismatching earrings. Odd-shaped, baroque pearls are popular – where every pearl becomes unique. Smaller perfect round pearls aren’t as fashionable now, but coloured pearls are in. The fashion world are also putting pearls all over faces, hair, clothes, shoes, bags, and everywhere they can. Try making sets of a pearl choker necklace, bracelet and earrings.

Newark Gem n Bead Fair
Like most Gem n Bead fairs, bead visitors were down, a lot. Especially on the Sunday – wish these shows were just one day. We setup on the Friday: so it’s three days for exhibitors. If Newark isn’t better in September, next year we won’t attend. We had a lot of fun: but it is a business!
