Dear Friends,
Happy New Year to you!
It has been quite some time since I wrote one of these. Actually, not true. I finished drafting this whole newsletter 2 hours ago and to my chagrin I lost the whole thing :(
Yes, im annoyed and yes this version is going to sound alot less poetic.

In any case, I hope your 2015 is off to a wonderful start. It's been such a pleasent year on this end. I've really enjoyed being in Philly, finding a little bit of a routine, and staying away from snow. I've also been writing new songs! YES, THAT'S WHAT I SAID!

SLOOOOOWING DOWN
As I began this year, I made a conscious decision to travel less, play less, practice more, and be gounded. As soon as I made this decision, I knew it was the right one. In fact, I felt this overwhelming sense of relief. I've been on the road for nearly 50% of the last two years. My hope is that 2015 will be a year or personal growth, spiritual growth, artistic growth, and meaningful relationships. Those things are hard to do when you're constantly on the go.

A NEW APPROACH
When I do hit the road, I will primarily be playing Universities and House Concerts!!! Sharing songs and stories with a small crowd in the intimacy of someone's living room has been the single most rewarding part of what I do. Spending time with young, vibrant, and hopeful college students pulls a very close second :) I will still play the occasional public show (especially around Philly and especially during Art Festival season), but I won't be playing out as frequently as in past years.  With all that said, if you would like to book a house concert in your city, please let me know! I will surely keep you posted on my next pass through your part of the country!

THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
With a new year comes new experiences! I am so excited to announce that I will be traveling to the Dominican Republic with Food for the Hungry in just 3 weeks!  As you know, I have been partnering with FH for nearly 10 months now - working to get sponsorships for the children who live in the territories they operate in.  I have been so honored to team up with an organization that takes a wholistic approach to feeding the hungry - body, mind, and spirit. And so many of you have stepped up and begun sponsoring a child at my shows. Go you!!!  This February, I will have the opportunity to spend time on the ground learning more about how FH operates on a day-to-day basis and how i can be more involved. And I will also get to meet Angela, the little girl Ive been sponsoring!! Can you feel my excitement? Trust me...there will be plenty of pictures to share upon my return!
