3.  About the Elevator...
From Mark Pederson, UU Administrator

We do not have a firm date on the repair.  Since our elevator is 15+ years old, Otis no longer stocks the part so our service person is on the lookout for used parts to put in.  Otherwise, it will be $2500 to retrofit the elevator with a brand-new part designed for a more modern elevator.  With all the funds we’ve expended on the Annex recently, we have to find ways to reduce.  Since it is functional (slow, yes) and still safe, we have decided to see how to do this economically.

Thanks for your understanding.

Note from Ed - It takes about 20-25 seconds for the door to close after you push the button

4.  Ad Sales...
Please Sell an Ad!

One of the important ways that chorus members of ICC&CS, VOICES, and IGMC help raise money to cover concert costs is to get businesses to buy an ad in the ACI program shell.  We can all be grateful to the members of VOICES who sold ads last year, many of whom have signed up to do so again this year.  BUT not all businesses that bought last year will do so this yearmore people must sign up to sell ads if we are going to match, let alone exceed last year’s success.

The process is very simple: pick up the materials from Cindy Howell at next Monday’s rehearsal and follow the step-by-step instructions (the necessary forms and instructions are also attached to this newsletter).  You then go to a business you think could/should advertise, sign it up, and make sure it sends in the agreement form, the check, and the ad.  If just ten people sign up and each sells a $100 ad, ACI makes $1000.  Actually, these additional ten people will probably make more money, because businesses often buy larger ads.

Ad prices are remarkably affordable (see the list below), so you shouldn’t feel shy about approaching a business.  The ACI program shell reaches over 2000 audience members at six concerts—an ad is an excellent buy.

Ad prices:

Inside Front Cover          (7” wide x 10” high)          $350
Full Page                        (7” wide x 10” high)          $320
Half Page                       (7.5” wide x 5.00” high)  $200
Quarter Page                  (3.75” wide x 4.3” high)  $145
Eighth Page                    (3.5” wide x 2” high)         $100

Please get in touch with me at kkg1@cornell.edu if you have questions or talk with Cindy at rehearsal.  Many thanks!
