Dear friends and neighbors:
In case you are not yet aware, there has been a bad accident that has shut down 495 in both directions. A garbage truck in Union City careened off an overpass onto 495. Thankfully no one was killed but one person was injured. Port Authority has suspended all bus service until further notice. NJ Transit, Rail, PATH, NY Waterways are cross-honoring for bus passengers. Residents and visitors should avoid entering or exiting Hoboken from the north due to traffic delays. As you can envision, all NJ bound traffic through the Lincoln Tunnel is being diverted through the north end of Hoboken. Thank you for being patient with and supportive of our Hoboken Police Officers who are out there helping to direct this traffic mess. I will circulate any updates as I become aware of them.
