WEEKLY SERIES, LIVE FROM BOWERY ELECTRIC, NYC
PROCEEDS TO HELP SAVE BOWERY ELECTRIC, NIAGARA & BERLIN

On Thursday, August 13 at 7:00pm ET, Jesse Malin and his band will be performing a special all-requests-and-dedications version of his weekly show, The Fine Art of Self Distancing, live from New York City at Bowery Electric, the club he co-founded.

Requests and dedications can be made in the comments section of Jesse's Instagram  and Facebook.  Malin adds, “Let us know your requests, doctors!  The band and I are ready.”

The night will also feature musical guest Aaron Lee Tasjan (remote), comedian Melinda Hill (in-person), a PMA greeting from HR of Bad Brains, and the great Uncle Floyd will join Malin for a remote conversation from the bar.  A regional NJ/NYC hit, The Uncle Floyd Show syndicated in the ‘80s and featured The Ramones, Misfits, Dead Boys, Squeeze, David Johansen, and was immortalized by David Bowie with the song “Slip Away.”

The Fine Art of Self Distancing is produced by a skeleton crew in an empty venue, and in compliance with all CDC and New York City guidelines.  Advance tickets are available through Veeps, along with limited-edition merchandise.  All proceeds will benefit Jesse’s band and crew, and to help save his venues.

“Very few venues are going to be able to surive.  We need real financial help from the federal government, like they just did in Britain with the $2 billion dollar bailout,” writes Malin in a Rolling Stone story about the venue crisis.  “The government needs to acknowledge that the arts are essential to our culture, community and growth.
