Dear Homewood Service Providers, Stakeholders and Residents:

GTECH Strategies and ACTION-Housing in partnership with Peoples Natural Gas has launched the Energy Conservation Education Project. This project is a community outreach and educational effort to provide consumer education, sustainability education, and hands on training for homeowners reduce energy use and save money on utility bills.

- Consumer Education: educational programming to inform consumers about green products and/or services that reduce energy use.

- Sustainability Education: educational programming to spur behavioral changes that promote more sustainable living and lifestyles.

- Hands on training that can guide homeowners through the process of doing some minor upgrades and improvements in their own homes.

This is a four week program starting on Tuesday October 25th, 2011 at 6pm at the Homewood YMCA located 7140 Bennett Street in Homewood (Conference Room B).

The sessions will run from 6pm - 8pm FOOD and REFRESHMENTS will be served!

*NOTE: One gift basket per family.

GOALS OF PROGRAM:
- Demonstrate the potential of community outreach of education to reduce energy usage and lower utility costs for homeowners.
- Increased knowledge/awareness and behavioral change
- Increased participation in energy assistance and energy efficiency upgrade programs
- Lower energy usage and reduced utility costs for participants

NOTE: *This program is intended to serve residents of Homewood.
