Programme Summer Course Mood Disorders 2011
The Summer Course on Mood Disorders will be from Sunday 3 - Friday 8 July 2011, in Villa Finaly, Florence. With a different theme for each day, the course will cover mood, depression, bipolar disorder, treatment resistance and the relationship between mood, emotions and memory. The programme is taught in a combination of lectures, workshops and group assignments. Visit our website for more information.
 
Special Lectures
The Summer Courses include a series of four special lectures. These lectures are an to highlight interdisciplinary aspects, discuss new evidence and/or to place the basic concepts in a broader context. This year's lectures are:

Circadian rhythms and affective disorders
Servier Lecture by Ellen Frank (Pittsburgh)

The role of emotion in the development of social cognition in chimpanzees
Finaly Lecture by Kim Bard (Portsmouth)

The influences of facial and bodily expressions on affective communication
Board Lecture by Beatrice de Gelder (Tilburg & Harvard)

Lost in translation? The cognitive neuroscience - clinical practice dialogue
ICANS Lecture by Tim Dalgleish (Cambridge)
 
Applications
The Summer Course is open to holders of an MSc or MD degree in psychology, medicine, psychiatry, behavioural sciences or a related discipline. To apply fill out the application form on our website.
 
The deadline for early applications is 1 April. The final applications deadline is 1 May.
