Performance: June 4 at Hipbone Studio
Closing Gathering: June 7 at PST Home Base: 3333 NE 15th Avenue (currently not wheelchair accessible)
This workshop will focus on personal stories. We will help you identify a personal story that you want to develop and tell. Often we have anecdotes or fleeting memories; through our collaborative group process we will help you to develop the context and get to the deeper meaning and truth of your story.
Along the way we will talk about what a story is and what a story isn't, how storytelling differs from acting, beginnings, middles and ends, the hero's journey, the narrative arc, conflict and resolution/transformation, presentation styles and skills, and so much more, as we try to help each of you discover your own narrative voice. Your instructors will be PST co-founders Lynne Duddy and Lawrence Howard.
All sessions except the Tech and the Performance will be at 3333 NE 15th Avenue (between Fremont and Klickitat) from 7:00 pm until 10:30. Please note that currently this location is NOT wheelchair accessible. Light snacks and refreshments are always part of the PST experience. The cost for all seven sessions in the series, a plus a one-on-one, is $200. We ask that you be able to commit to attending all seven sessions.
Now, here's the best part: at the end of the workshop, each participant will have the chance to tell their story at Hipbone Studio! We have reserved Saturday, June 4th at Hipbone for a workshop showcase. After the showcase, we'll gather together a final time for reflection, debriefing, and celebration.
