Meet Saeeda Hafiz, a San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) holistic nutrition coordinator and yoga teacher, who will read from her new book. The Healing is Hafiz's powerful story, about a young African-American woman who signs up for lessons in yoga and cooking, and finds herself on a spiritual path of transformation as she faces inner demons fed by the domestic violence, addiction and poverty of her youth.

Join us for an evening with the Women's National Book Association, featuring WNBA writers reading from their recent works.
Martha Conway will read from her historical novel, Thieving Forest - called "extraordinary" by the Akron Beacon Journal, and "hypnotic" by Kirkus Reviews.
Carole Bumpus is a retired family therapist, food and travel writer, and author of short stories. She will read from her first literary novel, A Cup of Redemption, and its companion book, Recipes for Redemption.
Lisa Alpine will discuss Wild Life: Travel Adventures of a Worldly Woman - Foreword Reviews' INDIEFAB Book of the Year Award Gold Winner, and 1st Place winner of Travel Book 2014 North American Book Awards.
