Dear Friends,
I am so excited to share this song with you! I was first asked to write this song for Bread for the World's 1000 Days Campaign in 2013. I began working on the song, but for a number of reasons I tabled it. In the summer of 2015, I pulled it back out and felt like I had the words, experience, and understanding to finish it - to actually mean what I was saying. I think that's always the challenge for me: am I writing a song b/c I can, or do I actually believe what I'm saying. This song needed nearly 3 years of waiting. It took an Ebola outbreak, a refugee crisis, Ferguson, ISIS, a vanishing plane full of Malaysian passengers, and my trip to the Dominican Republic with Food for the Hungry in order for it to become what it was truly intended to be.
