Psalm 103:22 Bless the LORD, all His works, in all places of His dominion. Bless the LORD, O my soul!
BLESS THE LORD (5)
Do we really believe what we're reading in these verses? We've talked about some of the great things that God has done for us; providing for both our physical and spiritual needs. But can we really bless Him for "all His works?" What about when God chastises us? Should we praise Him for this? What about when God decides to take a loved one out of our lives? Is this a blessing?
Reaching maturity in our faith means having the ability to submit to God in all things; and even more, that we continue to bless and praise Him in all matters of life. Remember how this psalm started. "Bless the LORD, oh my soul and all that is within me, bless His holy name." We don't just speak of God's holiness because it's fit and proper to do so. To be holy means that everything He does is just, wise, and the right thing. That holds true even in the moments of His will that we resist by nature or that we can't understand right away in our limited perception.
True enough, no one likes to be disciplined, but we deserve it when we sin and lead ourselves off the right path. It's never delightful to suffer pain and loss in life, but it certainly helps us appreciate what is truly worthy and it keeps us grounded in the Lord's Word. God is holy. He knows what is best for all things. With Jesus as your Savior, you can trust that God will work all things out for your good. Bless Him for this!
