Clubroom Maintenance
Keeping the Clubrooms in good nick is a seemingly never-ending chore, with minor jobs needing to be done throughout the year. This can be anything from fixing a leaking tap washer in the kitchen to repairing a dodgy lock on a toilet door. We have, over the last six years, used a couple of small general "jobbing builders": the first turned out to be pretty useless (talked a good job, but didn't produce the goods) and the second who was good, but had to give up through personal circumstances.

Do you know anyone who might be prepared to be our "go to" small works chap or chapess who we could call on when required? (You might even be prepared to do it yourself). If you do know someone, could you please let me have their contact details so that I can get in touch with them.

On a separate maintenance subject, some of you may have noticed the paint is flaking off in some areas of the front wall above the stage, this is where damp has come in. I propose putting together a small working party to redecorate the wall at some time over the summer. What will probably be required is to apply some sealer to the affected areas before painting with emulsion. However, I'm not too sure what we should use as a sealer and would appreciate any suggestions that the more decoratingly (is that really a word?) knowledgeable among you may have - if you know about these things, please drop me a line to let me know.
