Acts 10:34-36 Then Peter began to speak: "I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts men from every nation who fear him and do what is right. You know the message God sent to the people of Israel, telling the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all."
MISSIONARY PETER: SENT BY GOD TO SHARE THE GOSPEL WITH ALL
There is a children's song that goes like this: "Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world; red and yellow, black and white, all are precious in His sight: Jesus loves the little children of the world." The song reminds us that when Jesus descended from heaven to serve as mankind's Savior, He did it out of love for everyone. He died on the cross to redeem everyone. He rose from dead to give everyone the victory over death.
That the God of love wants all people saved, not just some, is taught powerfully in the story written in Acts 10. Here we hear about how Peter was thinking that the preaching of the Gospel should be limited to a certain group of people, namely, his fellow-Jews. After God corrected his mistaken thinking by means of a vision, Peter was eager and ready to travel to the home of the Gentile, Cornelius, and share the Gospel with him. The happy result was that Cornelius and his whole family came to trust in Jesus, were baptized, and saved.
God has called us to perform the same blessed work. He's commissioned us to spread the word that His Son came into the world to rescue people lost in sin and unbelief. When we meet people along the path of life (at work, at the store, at the coffee shop, at the airport, on the bus, etc.) let's keep in mind that no matter who they are, how different they may look to us, no matter what language they speak, Jesus loves them and saved them too, just as He did us. Let's look for opportunities to share the Good News of Jesus, the Savior of all.
