Dear Friends of Bookshop West Portal,
To do our part to limit the potential spread of the coronavirus, we are following the recommendations set forth by the San Francisco Dept of Public Health and canceling our author events scheduled for the rest of March:
Eitan Hersh - Politics is for Power
Natasha Pulley - The Lost Future of Pepperharrow
Adam Hochschild - Rebel Cinderella: From Rags to Riches to Radical, the Epic Journey of Rose Pastor Stokes
We have rescheduled Adam Hochschild’s event for April 30th. Unfortunately, both Natasha Pulley and Eitan Hersh live outside the Bay area, so it is unlikely they will be able to reschedule. Knowing that many of our customers were looking forward to purchasing autographed copies at these events, we are doing our best to get signed copies shipped to us from the publishers. If you are interested in reserving an autographed copy of Politics is for Power or The Lost Future of Pepperharrow please email or call us, and we will notify you if they become available.
Most importantly, please know that Bookshop West Portal is committed to making sure that all staff and customers remain safe and healthy during this challenging time. As of last week, we have instituted a sanitizing schedule at the store, so all counters, doorknobs, bathroom faucets and telephones are cleaned on an hourly basis. We have hand sanitizer at the desk, which the staff uses regularly and is also available to customers upon request.
If you prefer to stay home, we are happy to take phone orders, ship your order to you, or you can order via our website: www.bookshopwestportal.com (for pick up in-store or shipped). Our phone number is 415-564-8080, and you may also email us at: info@bookshopwestportal.com
On behalf of Bookshop West Portal and all the local West Portal merchants, thank you so much for your continued support and patronage.
With all best wishes,
Neal Sofman, Anna Bullard and the staff at Bookshop West Portal
