First, there's this lovely springtime Quattro which was created by Theresa Leonard of Phoenix, AZ. She combined two coordinating batiks with this gorgeous Laurel Burch print to make a very striking bag! I like the corner flower embellishment and the decorative stitching & buttons on the pockets. I'm sure she'll be noticed wherever she goes carrying this beauty!

And here's a wonderful PortaPockets purse insert which was expertly crafted by Amy Phipps. And look how pretty the front looks!

This classy Harmony Handbag was made by Carol Harshbarger of Duncansville, PA as part of a new ensemble she fashioned for herself. I totally love the way she added the flower embellishment to her Harmony in order to tie the whole look together.
Great job Carol!

Jan Swartz of Centralia, MO made this yummy Baggalista and the equally beautiful entry below, as gifts for her daughters last September. She said the girls have repeatedly been stopped and asked where they got their bags! No wonder! Here's another view and a peek inside.

Jan added that the 'Soft & Stable' she used to make up these Baggalista's has really made a big difference in how the bags hold up, saying they are just as nice  as the day she gifted them! I really like the clever zipper pull Jan fashioned from a simple bead & cording, and here's a view of the back!

And finally, this leatherette lovely was created by Lori Gates of West Henrietta, NY. Lori chose to use faux leather for this Quattro and said it worked out beautifully. I especially like the tortoise-shell O-rings she chose to attache the straps with. It's a great look!

Website Spotlite- Dog Under My Desk

Oh there is quite a bit of dog-related items (which may interest you anyway), but there are also some "cute as a button" projects that have nothing to do with dogs! If your looking for some light fiction, then this is NOT the book for you.
UnBroken is the inspiring true story of a man who lived through a series of catastrophes almost too incredible to be believed. It's the story of Louie Zamperini--a juvenile delinquent-turned-Olympic runner-turned-Army hero. During a routine search mission over the Pacific, Louie’s plane crashed into the ocean, and what happened to him over the next three years of his life is a story that will keep you glued to the pages, eagerly awaiting the next turn in the story and fearing it at the same time. You’ll cheer for the man who somehow maintained his selfhood and humanity despite the monumental degradations he suffered, and you’ll want to share this book with everyone you know. I loved it, and just so you know, even though the link provided is to an Amazon page, I do NOT receive kickbacks of any type from Amazon.

Her logo was even orange. "How about orange?" she thought. Yeah. How about orange. It's a blog name and a suggestion all rolled into one. Check it out!

Artist Charles Ottolini never thought he would flip through InStyle magazine looking at silk scarves, handbags and other women's accessories. Nor did he ever dream he would became a fashion designer almost 40 years after beginning art school.
"I was with my friend at the airport. At a newspaper stand, I found myself thumbing through fashion magazines," said Ottolini, who has spent his career designing stained-glass windows. "I bought my first InStyle magazine a few months ago." He joked, "I traded in all my man cards."  (Click HERE to read more)

Monthly Trivia-
Today is April 7th, the 98th day of this year and there are 268 days left in 2012.
April 7th is also a "hop head's" favorite day! What's a hop head you might ask? Is it a professional pogo stick stunt artist? Or a nickname for the Easter bunny? Well, it's none of those things. Hops go in beer, and hop heads like 'em bitter. So you might want to gather with some of your "hop head" friends to celebrate the fact that today is "National Beer Day".
And if you prefer celebrations that have cake and ice cream on the menu instead, there will likely be a good deal of it to go around at the home of Francis Ford Coppola (director of The Godfather movies), who will be celebrating his 73rd birthday today. He shares his special day with Russell Crowe (best known for his role in The Gladiator), and martial artist/actor Jackie Chan (Rush Hour).
And if today is also YOUR birthday, here's a great big 'Happy Birthday to YOU' from StudioKat Designs, and if today is not your birthday, you can celebrate the day anyway by raising a pint with some of your "hop head" buddies, or by watching The Godfather ("leave the gun, but take the canoli") one more time or maybe by just starting one of the MANY projects that have been featured in this issue!

Well, that's it for now, so until next month, remember!
Sewing Forever, Housework Whenever!
