2 Corinthians 4:5 For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your bond-servants for Jesus' sake.
BOND-SERVANTS
There really shouldn't be a power struggle for leadership in the Christian Church. Our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, though He might have demanded to be served, came to serve and give His life a ransom for many (cf. Matthew 20:28).
It is evident that the Apostle Paul also considered himself and his fellow workers to be servants of Christ and of the Corinthians. They didn't come looking to be served. They didn't want to know what the Corinthians could do for them before proclaiming the Gospel to them. The Gospel of Christ is meant to be dispensed freely, without cost.
We should also consider ourselves to be bond-servants for Jesus' sake. Jesus has purchased and won our freedom from our former master, Satan. Jesus has paid to set us free from slavery to sin which results in eternal death.
Therefore Christ is our Master and it is a pleasure to serve Him. For He doesn't withhold blessings until we have somehow earned them, but having earned them Himself He gives them to us up front, and afterward invites us to tell others the good news.
It is a joy to be a bond-servant of God for Jesus' sake.
