Hello Firstname

Wednesday 18 September
Viveca Koh ARPS visits us next Wednesday with her talk called Urban Exploration to Fine Art, a photographic journey. This presentation encompasses her photographic development over the past three years from urban exploration attaining LRPS and ARPS and developing in terms of style and maturity. This will be an evening of both DPI and prints. To get a feel of what you might expect, please visit Viveca's website.

Print Competition - Round 1
The closing date for the first round of the Print Competition is 25 September, so you've got just two weeks to get your masterpieces printed & mounted. David and Patsy will have your paperwork & labels for this year's competition programme at next week's Wednesday meeting.
If you have any problems or queries I'm sure that David or Patsy will be only too pleased to answer them, please email David at david@vizion2000.net

Nature Cheats!
I've mentioned cheats in the world of exhibitions before and you might gather by the fact that I'm mentioning it again that it's a problem that isn't going away. In fact it is now almost reaching epidemic proportions with "cheats" being discovered in almost every international exhibition. The following link will take you to an interesting blog site where the wiley tactics of some of our far eastern cousins are exposed. It's quite a long article, but it's well worth reading through to the end.

The image below is typical of the sort of image that entrants try to pass off as "untouched & original", but in this case it not only managed to get accepted in an exhibition (2013 Australian Geographic ANZANG Nature Photographer of the Year), it won first prize, which just goes to show that even so-called top judges can get it wrong sometimes!
