I still remember the excitement. On Christmas Eve each year as we left church we looked forward to the good things that waited. Good food, good cheer, good songs ... and good gifts! But we had to wait for those. After all, it is very rude and selfish to open a gift before it is given. My parents told me "you just have to be patient and wait." In the same way, our Father in Heaven says:

SEX IS A GIFT *

Genesis 2:24 A man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife and the two shall be one flesh.

When you get married, you look forward to wedding gifts. God also gives a wedding gift as well, and His gift is by far the best gift of all. His gift is sex. He has wrapped it and marked it to "open on your wedding day." It's the way He always wanted it, and He is very serious about it. To open and use His gift of sex early would be very rude, selfish, and even unloving to God who made it for you. In fact, God calls this disobedience wicked and sinful. Hebrews 13:4 says, "Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral."

Understand that God wants you to have this gift of sex. Withholding sex from you before He gifts it to you in marriage isn't because He wants you to suffer, it's because He knows the wisdom in which He has designed and given it. God uses the gift of sex to bless a marriage union as a demonstration of the love, the commitment, and the union He has made between the husband and wife. Sharing that gift with others besides your spouse dishonors and depreciates it. When sex is saved for marriage, heart, mind, and body are all perfectly united. That's God's way. Proverbs 5:18 says, "May your fountain be blessed, and may you rejoice in the wife of your youth." Sex is God's. It's His gift that He has planned to give to you on your wedding day. Believe Him. It's better that way.
