There are few things in this world as joyful as creating something. When you pour yourself into a painting, a story, a team you coach, what satisfaction to see the final result! God knows what that satisfaction is like. He looked at His creation when all was finished and said, "This is very good." He gave this blessing to the first couple Adam and Eve in showing them also that:
SEX IS CREATIVE *
Psalm 127:3 Behold, children are a gift of the LORD; The fruit of the womb is a reward.
Miraculously, sex can create a new life. That alone proves sex is so much more than a fling, a physical transaction, or a one-night stand. God has granted to the physical union of man and woman that spark of creative genius and astounding DNA code which He exercised when He said "Let there be ..." Sex creates human life! That deserves our wonder. It deserves our respect and praise just like the Psalmist said: "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well" (Psalm 137:13-14).
Sex also creates intimacy and companionship. God said "The two shall become one flesh" (Genesis 2:24). God has created the body and mind of a man and woman to come together as one through the act of sexual union. It is intended to bring the husband and wife closer together. It assures of commitment, trust, and love. It opens barriers and releases stress and tension. Sex creates not just physical, but also emotional intimacy. Sex can bring healing to a torn marriage that desperately needs forgiveness. The Apostle Paul reminds us to "Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you" (Ephesians 4:31-32). Sex is a tremendous blessing for a husband and wife, because according to God's design and plan, Sex is creative.
