Ephesians 2:10 You are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints.

ALL SAINTS' DAY: A FESTIVAL TO REMEMBER

The day before yesterday we passed one the so-called minor festivals of the Christian church year: All Saints' Day. This festival falls each year on November 1st. It is unfortunate that it does not get the attention that it once did among Christians. It isn't remembered or celebrated in church circles nearly as much as it was in days gone by. The Festival of All Saints affords a special opportunity for Christians to receive Gospel comfort and encouragement for their faith-lives. As soldiers in the army of Jesus Christ (part of the Church Militant, soldiers engaged in warfare against the spiritual forces of evil in heavenly realms) how we need this encouragement!

In our devotions this week we will direct our thoughts to words of God that teach us about saints and sainthood, and the final victory that lies in store for all the saints, for Jesus' sake. May we draw sweet comfort and renewed strength for our lives as God's people from this precious tenet of our faith: I believe in the Holy Christians Church, the Communion of Saints.
