THE BEST NEW WOMEN POETS

Black Lives Matter

July 1, 2020

Dear Friends of Perugia Press,

As a nonprofit organization committed to amplifying marginalized voices, Perugia Press continues to think about the most effective and active ways for us to stand with the Black Lives Matter movement and especially to support Black, Indigenous and Women of Color.

Our board has been engaged in reading antiracist work and will focus our quarterly meeting in July on moving our organization toward change through antiracism. We look forward to sharing our efforts.

As we remember Breonna Taylor, we continue to add to the call for justice in her name. Since our last letter, one officer responsible for her murder has been fired, and Louisville voted to ban "no knock" warrants in a measure termed "Breonna's Law." There is much more work to do, and we invite you to sign and check in on the petitions below and to keep the pressure on for greater change and accountability.

In solidarity,

Rebecca Olander, Editor/Director
& the Perugia Press Board of Directors
