Hello Friends and Family,
Earth2Trump Road Show
I’ll be touring the US by train this January as part of the Earth2Trump Road Show (see description below). There are two legs of the tour. Makana and I will perform in Seattle, Portland, Reno, Salt Lake City, Denver, Omaha, Chicago and Washington DC. Casey Neill and Lyla June will do a second leg of the tour across the south.
Tour Description
Join the Center for Biological Diversity and a diverse array of local environmental and social justice nonprofits in a show of solidarity - to make sure our voices are heard by the coming Trump administration, and our issues are represented in future policies.
The event is part of a cross-country, multi-city tour featuring performances by musicians Makana and Dana Lyons, local performance artists, as well as speakers from the Center for Biological Diversity and local groups. The evening also includes interactive art and a call to action, as well as booths from local social justice nonprofits, with an installation globe that will be towed to D. C. for the inauguration. Event is free and open to the public.

Urgent Call For Your Help
Please call or write President Obama asking him to save the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (see sample text and contact info below)
New Music Video:
“Chosen By My People” is my new video and a call to action to save the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and the Gwich’in Indians’ subsistence way of life. This is an extremely important human rights and environmental issue.
Filmed this summer in Arctic Village by world-renowned nature and wildlife photographer Florian Schulz, “Chosen By My People” tells the story of the struggle to protect the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge from oil drilling. The effort to save the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is now more important than ever, and President Obama has the opportunity to make history by designating the coastal plain a National Monument.
Please Write or Call President Obama
(sample text below)
Dear President Obama:
I am writing to urge you to protect the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and the Gwich’in Indians’ subsistence way of life by creating a National Monument.
The Gwich’in Indians – or the caribou people – have lived in unity with the Porcupine Caribou Herd of Northern Alaska for thousands of years. These caribou migrate each year to the coastal plain of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in order to give birth and raise their young. The coastal plain remains vulnerable to oil drilling. This drilling would threaten both the Porcupine Caribou herd by eliminating their calving grounds and the Gwich’in people, who depend on the caribou to sustain their subsistence way of life. This is an extremely important human rights and environmental issue and has implications for climate change.
I ask you to act immediately and use your executive power to protect the unique natural and cultural features of the coastal plain by proclaiming it a National Monument.
