So, for those of you with really short attention spans (which I realize is most of us by now) here's it all in a nutshell:
1.) Mariposa's Art Guitar Fundraiser at the Crepe Place ROCKED!
2.) Spring Tour is in progress... a few shows down...
3.) ... more THIS Sat 4/9/2011 (Carmel Valley) and Wed 4/13/2011 (Soquel Village)
5.) And if you haven't noticed by now, every email I send has some photos at the end...
And for those of you who like to break open the shell, rub between your fingers, dry roast for a while, then toss among a bed of fresh greens with avocados, tomatoes and honey-lemon-balsamic vinaigrette, here's all that:
1.) So, the Mariposa's Art Guitar Program Fundraiser at the Crepe Place was amazing. Thank you SO much to everyone who came out for it. We had SIX bands in FOUR hours and an enthusiastic & generous crowd, who all together have given the underserved students of Watsonville, CA new guitars, and many many new guitar strings! Rock on.
The musicians who played that night (Michael Gaither
, The Juncos
) were all so professional, kind, talented and wonderful. Please go to their shows, buy their CD's and love them however you can. They deserve it and ongoing gratitude for their offering towards music education.
2.) Pete Solomon & I enjoyed some lovely shows on the Central Coast last weekend playing at Linnaea's in San Luis Obispo and The Sculptera Winery in Paso Robles as part of Steve Key's Songwriters-at-Play showcases. Wonderful to see all you folks down there :-) One of my most favorite parts was driving along Highway 41 through miles & miles of avocado trees. Did you know I'm obsessed with avocados? Mmmm yum!
3.) THIS weekend I will play in Carmel Valley at the lovely Plaza Linda, and next Wednesday I'll be at the Ugly Mug in Soquel (which is actually very cute, not ugly)... details are below and of course on the website: www.amandawestmusic.com. If you live nearby, I do hope you can come! The amazing Mandalyn May opens at the Ugly Mug.
4.) Hey, did you know Earth Day is coming up on April 22nd/23rd? Yep, that's right. Time to save the world. Time to make a change. Me? I sing songs, and I believe that those words and melodies can reach through the invisible walls separating us all and remind us of our true interconnectedness, our Oneness. Earth day is You day, is Me day, is Us day. Saving our planet means saving ourselves. What do you think? www.fouryearsgo.org
Well, I think this means you're pretty awesome for reading through the whole email.
Let's see each other again soon. Thank you for everything!
