Field to Table Schools Outreach and Education Assistant

Note: this is a Service Canada funded position.  Applicants must be 30 years of age or under, currently attending school full-time and returning to school full-time in the fall.

The Outreach and Education Assistant will help to enhance the development and maintenance of school garden and school food literacy networks in Toronto and will assist in the development and delivery of workshops on a variety of food education themes.

Focus on Food Youth Project Internship Opportunity for Youth (15-30)

FoodShare Toronto, with support from Human Resources Skills Development Canada, has 14 positions for youth in a 24-week long paid internship program beginning JULY 13TH, 2009 and ending DECEMBER 24TH, 2009.

If you are interested in a multi-faceted work environment, we will train you to work in our food distribution warehouse, our kitchen, our office, or our urban agriculture program.  You will learn about nutrition and how our food system works, as well as develop your interpersonal skills.  The internship also offers an intensive lifeskills portion that nurtures the growth of self both personally and professionally.

To qualify you must be between the ages of 15-30, unemployed, have had difficulty finding long term employment and/or be a newcomer to Canada.  The positions pay minimum wage for a 37.5 hour work week. You MUST be eager to work and learn in a team environment.
