Dear Neighbor,

Here are your May updates.

Hoboken Uptown Farmers’ Market Returns
I am a regular at the Uptown Hoboken Uptown Farmers’ Market and love supporting this 5th Ward market that adds so much to our community. Happily, last Saturday, the Uptown Farmers’ Market came back for the season.
Mark your calendars for Saturday mornings from 9 am to 1 pm through December. Not only can you pick up farm fresh farm foods and tasty treats, but you can also check out local musical artists performing under the viaduct. As a reminder for residents of Southwest Hoboken, the Bhalla administration facilitated a third farmers’ market at the Southwest Resiliency Park which will return again this year, an important amenity for the neighborhood.

Mayor Bhalla Delivers NACTO Keynote Address
I’m pleased to share that Hoboken’s Vision Zero and climate efforts continue to be recognized across the country. Yesterday, Mayor Bhalla delivered the keynote address at the nation’s premier transportation advocacy group, the National Association of City Transportation Officials (NACTO).
Mayor Bhalla highlighted Hoboken’s Vision Zero success of zero traffic-related fatalities and climate resiliency efforts. Reading his speech, it struck me how important both initiatives are in protecting the most vulnerable in our community, as traffic deaths and injuries, along with climate change, disproportionally affect seniors, children, and lower-income populations. I hope you take a few minutes to read this and check out Mayor Bhalla’s speech.

Volunteer for Spring Fling
You can participate in Spring Fling, a community-wide day of service dedicated to enhancing the beauty of City parks and public spaces. The event takes place on Saturday, June 1, from 10 am to 2 pm at various locations. Volunteers can register by May 17 either as teams or individuals and must be at least 16 years old.

Citi Bike Valet Program Returns
Citi Bike’s complimentary valet service at Hoboken Terminal is back. The service, reinstated by Lyft after Mayor Bhalla requested its return, streamlines residents' journeys to and from the terminal, especially during peak hours, by eliminating the challenge of finding vacant docking space or available bicycles around Hoboken Terminal during rush hours.
Valet staff oversee the availability of dock space and bikes at the Hoboken Terminal - River Street docking station and will help you on weekdays from 7 am to 11 am and 4 pm to 8 pm. For more information about Hoboken’s bike share program, click here.
We love CitiBikes!
