Dear friends and neighbors:
I begged and pleaded, was waitlisted, but due to a late cancellation, I GOT THE CALL on Wednesday to be a substitute judge for this Saturday’s 10th Annual Chili Cook Off and Craft Beer Contest to benefit True Mentors
#BUCKETLIST
The event will be held at Our Lady of Grace (4th / Willow) from 2pm – 6pm.  And…it gets better… they even gave me my own discount code to share with all of you!  #TIFFANIE gets you $10 off your ticket.
#LIFEGOALS
Tickets are $35 per person with the discount code and your $35 gets you entry into one of the best events (IMHO) in Hoboken that is just all good - a great crowd, totally fun, awesome music by Gravy Train and basically all you can eat and drink of delicious chili and craft beer.  Click HERE to get a ‘taste’ of what it’s like.  And the best part is all of the proceeds goes to help children in Hoboken
In all seriousness, True Mentors is the amazing local organization that changes the lives of Hoboken children every day with one on one mentoring.  This is their big annual fundraiser – last year they raised $18,000 and this year their goal is $20,000.  So even if you can’t attend, Buy A Ticket and know that your donation is going to a great Hoboken cause.
2015: my parents, chili and BFF’s son Ash.
Little known fact, I was a contestant in 2015.  Although I did not officially win, I received enough accolades to keep my confidence intact.  I have been cooking a specific recipe that I call “Jerry’s Chili” since 1991 given to me by a British work colleague Jerry Steele-Perkins who was also friends with John Cleese and hosted Jimmy Buffet on his houseboat when he came to Rochester.  He had his secretary (word used at the time) Lisa type up a memo of his recipe for me on a typewriter.  And to this day I follow it to a T and every time I cook it I am told it is the “best chili ever”.  That said, the chilis at the Hoboken Chili Cookoff are even better…
Jerry passed several years ago, but in his honor, I share the original recipe memo with you (attached).
So a reminder for your full Hoboken Saturday, please join me for:
What a special place we live in.  As always please forward this to anyone you think may be interested and feel free to reach out via email, text or phone (201-208-1674) about this or anything else important to you.

Best wishes,
