Dear Friends,

We leave for Afghanistan in a couple hours and I will do my best to keep you up-to-date on our goings-on while we’re in Kabul, Barek Aub, Istalif and elsewhere.

I’ll try to send an update every day, but please don’t worry if you don’t hear from me for a day or two (or three) – it doesn’t mean anything bad has happened!  Electricity and Internet service can be sporadic in Afghanistan and getting updates out regularly can be a challenge.  Some updates may be written by other team members, too, but I know you'll enjoy them every bit as much as mine.

Because of the current situation in Afghanistan all the updates may be a bit more vague about specific activities, identities, and locations than in the past, but you should still get a clear idea of the ongoing work we're doing.  As always, we look forward to seeing you all in person after our return and sharing stories about the ongoing restoration work over there.

I’ll try to write again from the Dubai airport tomorrow night… our last stop before arriving in Kabul.

Thank you for your prayers and good thoughts… we thrive on it while we’re over there!

--Bob & Patty
