First we want to say something about the financial miracle that has taken place as well as to say THANK YOU to everyone who has given so amazingly generously to help establish what God wants to be done here.
Back in June we heard God say “Now is the time to build”. Then we had just over a third of the money needed to build the foundations and the basement. People kept asking us how we were going to raise the money and we said we didn’t know. All we knew was that we wanted to see God’s hand in it. We heard God say that He would “stir people’s hearts” and that He wanted to see who would “partner Him” in building the Prayer House. So we thought we’d simply let go and watch Him do it!
There are not many people who know about us. God has kept us in a hidden place and much of what happens here is by word of mouth. Also, our newsletter doesn’t go out to many people, so we needed a massive financial miracle. The amazing thing is that the money came in! The builder said he would email his 3rd (and largest) invoice at the end of November, but we were short by a certain amount. He actually forgot to send it and we eventually got it on the 7th December, one day after we received a significant donation that covered the outstanding balance. Isn’t God wonderful! We paid the invoice with almost nothing to spare. God provided the exact amount that was needed. He was showing us that He was in control.
I (Mark) had a dream about this. I was in the Prayer House. A certain lady had given us a large number of oil paintings to look after. The paintings didn’t have any frames around them and they were all different sizes. She knocked on the door of the Prayer House and wanted to check they were all there. I invited her in and showed her the paintings. They were all hanging on the walls, but they were facing the wall so you couldn’t see the pictures, only the back of the canvases. She was relieved that none of them was missing.
When I asked the Holy Spirit for the interpretation, He said that the oil paintings were the financial gifts for the Prayer House. The lady was the Holy Spirit. All the gifts were given because of her. Each painting was unique and personal, a reflection of the person who gave it. The paintings were all facing the wall. They were not for show and were not meant to be seen by others. The beauty of each painting was not seen outwardly but was imprinted onto the structure of the walls. They were now a part of the walls of the Prayer House. The lady was relieved that no painting was missing, so every gift was important and necessary.
So what’s next?
We feel from the Lord that Stage 1 is complete. It’s finished. And with it God has established the spiritual foundation of the Prayer House. So that’s also finished, sealed. We’ve felt the spiritual atmosphere shift around us. There are 2 more stages to complete the main building works. Stage 2 is the ground floor walls and ceiling, which will bring the building to about 4.5m above the ground. And Stage 3 is the upstairs walls, ceiling and roof. That will include a massive steel frame to support the roof.
With each stage we feel God wants to establish something in the Spirit. So as the physical building goes up, so does the level of anointing and grace. It’s like the water level rises!
Of course all this depends on the timing of the Lord and the finances. At the moment our feeling is that we’ll start to build Stage 2 in the spring / early summer. We’re hoping that this will flow directly into Stage 3. Let’s see. We’d greatly appreciate your prayers that we would know exactly when to move. We want to be totally aligned with heaven and God’s purposes for Auschwitz-Birkenau. At the moment the builder is expecting to start at the end of March, early April when the weather warms up, but we think God might be saying to start a bit later in May, early June.
Now for some more photos!
First one of the inside of the basement, taken with a flash because the windows are covered up and it’s pitch black inside! You can see the builder and Karen (our friend) standing in the light that’s shining down the stairs. We’re standing about 1.7m below ground. The 2 supporting poles are “just in case” there’s a heavy winter snowfall.
